Please Pray!

every 16 minutes, someone in the United States takes their own life

I have had a few people in my life that have committed suicide or attempted to but i didn't think that someone in my family would.

Last night when i came home from church my mom told me that my cousin Skylar (kind of cousin she is my aunts brothers daughter) attempted to hang herself. They were able to find her before it was to late. They resuscitated her and got her to the hospital.

I ask that you please pray for my family and especially for Skylar. And that you pray for the millions of people everyday that deal with depression and thinking about suicide!

If you or anyone you know is thinking about taking your own life talk to someone about it there are many people that are waiting to talk. You can call 1-800-SUICIDE or 1-800-273-TALK and talk completely anonymously.

The Word

So i can't remember if i had ever done a post on this or not so if i have please forgive me but i just got really excited all over again!

Have you heard about the word software? it's awesome and completely free!!!

My grandpa gave me a copy of it and I totally love it!

I am always looking for new Bible resources! and i love finding ones that work really well for me while i am trying to study the Bible and understand things! so i love my expository dictionary and my concordances and my commentaries are always good!

But when my grandpa gave me this to play with i was totally amazed! It's basically all of my other resources combined on my computer which is way easier than bringing books around places here are just a few of them...
and yes i have more oh not to mention how man versions of the bible i have and go to

So anyway this software has practically every version in every language and tons of commentaries and cross references and Greek meanings and search functions and so many other awesome things! you can even add your own notes in and stuff!

so yeah it's really cool and you should check it out! the only problem is that is not yet available for mac so sorry all of you have mac and can't use it!

Atlanta

First I would like to apologize for the length of my last few blogs! sorry they are way long i guess i have just had a lot to say! anyway!

so this weekend i flew to Atlanta Georgia to visit my aunt! it was way fun!! i left sat morning and got back today so i really didn't spend very much time but it was much needed rest!

So Sunday my aunt and i went to church! I love going to church in different places and hearing different pastors speak! anyway we got there are she had me sing with her in their choir! it was totally fun!! i haven't had that much fun singing in a really long time!

After Church we went to Stone Mountain it was a perfect day to be outside well aside from being freezing cold! but we had a lot of fun walking around and eating!!! We ate at this southern home cooking restaurant it was awesome! and they have hand tossed rolls literally! they toss the hot rolls at you!

It was beautiful there!! i love the trees and the woods/forest kind of a feel!!!

Then we went back to the house to relax it was so nice not to have to do anything for the weekend i read an entire book amazing!!! They had 2 cats that were very cute! this one looks kind of creepy cuz well my cousin was holding it down and put a little crown on it's head you would be mad to!!

And then i cam home! today super early! i woke up there at 5am which is 2am California time! crazy!!!!

The entire plane ride there and back (4.5 hours each way!) I studied for school it was actually really good study time and i now don't have as much to do today and tomorrow so nice!!

All in all it was a great trip and i had a great time relaxing!! wish i could do that every weekend!!

I have an Ark

Yesterday i sat down to watch the news a little bit. Sometimes i like to take some time to watch it just to see what events are going on and stuff. But yesterday i could only watch for about 5 minutes. i was horrified! I could not believe in those first 5 minutes all the horrible things i heard! there were no good stores or even sports stats or anything.

One of the stories was on a little 7 year old girl who was shot by a drive by shooting and guess who the suspect is? her step mother what?? that's insane! and the argument supposedly is over custody so dumb!

another story was about a normal traffic stop in Pasadena where one car that was stopped the driver got out and open fired on all of the cops standing there! are you kidding me! the cops killed him.

If you go to any news website you will see the same kinds of stories man suspected in 14year old girl rape... custodian arrested for fondling... man kills himself in crystal cathedral.... stolen explosives.... the list goes on and on not to mention the economy and wall street and new budget signed that create their own problems

All I can say is it's insane!! and something needs to change!

As i was doing my devotions this morning i am in the book of Jeremiah which totally talks about the depravity and disgust of people! The Lord is pleading with them to turn away from these things and turn back to Him.

Jeremiah 4:3-4

“ Break up your fallow ground,

And do not sow among thorns.

Circumcise yourselves to the LORD,

And take away the foreskins of your hearts,

You men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem,

Lest My fury come forth like fire,

And burn so that no one can quench it,

Because of the evil of your doings.”

Last night we were talking about how the Lord in Noah's time wiped out everyone and how Noah was preaching to these people saying "I have an Ark just come repent and get on board the Lord will save you!"

We need to go out and tell people of the Saving power of Jesus and testify of the great things that He has done!! we need to stop sitting by and watch this world fall apart and get more corrupt we need to do something! "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature" mark 16:15

Meditate on the word of the Lord

So the past few weeks i have had some really crazy spiritual warfare and still having a lot of spiritual warfare it's crazy! i don't really want to talk much about it but i have talked to some people about it before and you know what i mean by spiritual warfare!

anyway... so through all of this spiritual warfare i have had some awesome times with the Lord He has been teaching me sooo... much He continuously shows me areas in my life that need to change and areas that i need to grow!

Last night we were talking about meditating on the word of the Lord it was awesome i taught on it on Sunday morning to! it's amazing what the Lord wants to do and what the Lord can do when we meditate on Him and His word!

1 Blessed is the man

Who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly,

Nor stands in the path of sinners,

Nor sits in the seat of the scornful;

2 But his delight is in the law of the LORD,

And in His law he meditates day and night.

3 He shall be like a tree

Planted by the rivers of water,

That brings forth its fruit in its season,

Whose leaf also shall not wither;

And whatever he does shall prosper.

4 The ungodly are not so,

But are like the chaff which the wind drives away.

5 Therefore the ungodly shall not stand in the judgment,

Nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.

6 For the LORD knows the way of the righteous,

But the way of the ungodly shall perish.

Let's take the time this week to meditate on the word of the Lord!

Praise the Lord

So lately the Lord has been showing me a lot! it's hard to describe and tell you exactly what He is doing but it's exciting! He is giving me a lot of confirmation about many things and just about my life in general!

One thing that He is showing me is how important it is to spend quiet time with the Lord everyday! not just time in devotions reading and praying but taking time to just meditate on Him and relax in His presence! Selah!!!

Another thing is that we need to praise Him for the little things! lately I have been realizing the little things that the Lord does in my life like the little prayers that He answers that we don't realize. or not even prayers but thoughts like i really hope it doesn't rain while i am walking to class and then it doesn't or like red lights turning green when you are in a hurry! those little things! i think sometimes we forget to thank the Lord for those things! or like the Sunshine and seeing His glory in the simplicity of it!

Anyway i pray that you thank the Lord for the simple things that we normally forget about and that you find time to meditate on the things the Lord has done!!

btw my dog is so cute!!

Random Excitement!

So my super random excitement for yesterday!!

I know these are totally random things but it made me excited!!

First I got a Starbucks card in the mail from Starbucks totally randomly! it was exciting! free money! yay!!

Then i went to eat this pre-packaged salad for lunch and it had one of these spork things in it! it's awesome! you take it apart and connect it. it's hard to explain but totally awesome!

and then i finally found the pens that i have been looking for forever! the ones that have 4 different color ink in it. I love to use them to take notes but haven't been able to find them for a while!

and on top of that it was raining which i love!!!

and then max texted me at 6:20 that i needed to lead worship because he was sick which of course got me super stressed! church starts at 7:00 and i had to pick songs get me guitar drive there get everything set up and all that kind of stuff! so yea super stressful but it ended up being fine!!! praise the Lord!!

Need God

You know how sometimes you listen to a Bible Study or read the Bible and you realize i am a horrible person and i need God so much more. Well that has been my life the last few days and most of the things are things that i have read and heard a million times in my life but i have just been realizing lately the truth to it and learning how to really apply it to my life!

It's amazing how the simplest thing sometimes will hit me and i go oh my gosh and it changes my view on everything! that is what is happening lately. I need God more!!

Praise the Lord He is so faithful to always teach us!!

BTW if you have not heard about this software yet it is amazing and free there are so many bible study resources on it! but i don't think it works with mac yet sorry!
