my quilt!!!!!

Anyone remember this!??

for my 20th birthday i had everyone draw with fabric markers on a square of fabric! and then i was going to make them into a quilt. well my grandma and i got started on it and well it's been almost 2 years since then and she just finished it and gave it to me for christmas i am so excited it looks so awesome! you can't tell to well from this picture but it really is awesome!!!!

Last night we went to the childrens hospital again! it was such a blessing!! We talked to almost every kid there. most of them were so happy to see people that cared and were excited to get christmas presents!!!

we had so much fun passing out presents to them and singing songs with our light up raindeer aintlers! :) some of my favorites were this gril brianna that can't really move at all except her knees a little we just hungout with her and showed her love! another was this kid raymond he was totally fun we gave him one of those doodle pads and helped him draw! and let's see we went back to adam's room which was harder this time than last but it was good to see that he was doing better! and this kid marlin's room he is 18 so i guess not really a kid anyway please pray for him! we talked to him for a while just about the Lord and how when there is nowhere else to turn the Lord is there! so yeah it was awesome!!!

oh and as we left on the ground was this water spot (actually there were 2) in the shape of a heart i thought it was cool!!!!

Simplicity of Salvation!

I Love the Simplicity of salvation!

This morning as part of our Christmas service the kids church came in and sang a couple songs for the congregation it was so awesome to see all these little kids praising the Lord! one of the songs the chorus just said thank you Jesus thank you Jesus thank you Jesus for coming and saving us. i just sat there listening to it and think how simple it is Jesus came in human form to save us! that's it end of story! we don't have to do anything except receive the free gift of salvation so amazing! we are so undeserving!

And so many times we try and make things harder and more work than they are! it's so simple! We are forgiven! lay all your burdens down at the feet of Jesus and leave them there we don't need to think about the things we have done in the past just worship the Lord now and serve Him with everything that we have!!! We forget about the true power of the Cross. does the cross mean nothing?

anyway be blessed! and remember you are forgiven!!

Missed opportunities

SO you know when you hear the Lord telling you to do something and you know ok i am supposed to do this and then you chicken out and don't do it. well that is me right now. On Tuesday night i hear the Lord telling me to do something and for some reason i talked myself out of doing it. I was afraid of the whole situation and what was going to happen and everything. so i didn't step out and do it. Now i feel horrible i saw someone today that reminded me of the situation and my heart just broke i should have listened to the Lord and stepped out of my comfort zone! ugh i hate this feeling! Now Satan is telling me "Your such an idiot i can't believe you would call yourself a servant of the Lord when you let your fear get in the way." I let Satan get a foothold and know i don't know what to do.

Lord forgive me for not obeying You and missing the opportunity to serve Your people. Stop Satan from making me feel horrible and depressed about it.

Friends if the Lord is telling you to do something do it cuz you don't want to look back later at the missed opportunity and feel the way i do now.

Adam

2 Corinthians 12:9
And He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

So there is a group of high school students and a few others that go on Monday nights to visit and worship with and pray for people. Usually they go to a children's hospital or to visit people with cancer or other people that are sick. All semester i wanted to go so bad but i didn't get out of class on Mondays until it was to late. So this last Monday i didn't have class so i got to go!

I was really excited! when i got there i found out that the person (Jake) that usually leads worship wasn't going to be there. (actually i found out Jake wouldn't be there earlier in the day but didn't realize that he was the one who always led worship) so anyways they asked if i could lead worship before we left! of course i said yes and went to get my guitar out of my car. I was so blessed to be able to worship with these students!

Anyway then off we went to the children's hospital. it was amazing i was so blessed!!! we spent most of the night in a kid named Adam's room. Adam's dad was in there to so we were able to pray with him and pray for him and for Adam and worship with them and everything. I have not had that awesome of a time in worship and prayer in a really long time! A lot of it had to do with Adam laying there not fully awake reminded me a lot of my friend Chris when he was in the hospital after his motorcycle accident. At first i didn't even know if i would be able to stay in the room with everyone because it brought back all the memories and heart ache of Chris but the Lord soon should me what we were there for.

Anyway i was so incredibly blessed by the whole night! as most of you know my uncle and my grandpa died this year along with my friend Chris almost dyeing and being in the hospital a long time and mom and my other grandpa and Pete being in the hospital it has been a very hard year! but the Lord is working it out and He has a plan for everything!!

MY KING!

OK so Frank read this on Tuesday night and it really hit me do we really KNOW the Lord??

cuz i don't think we really do!

The Bible says my King is a seven-way king....He's the King of the Jews; that's a racial king....He's the King of Israel; that's a national King....He's the King of Righteousness....He's the King of the Ages.....He's the King of Heaven....He's the King of Glory....He's the King of kings, and He's the Lord of lords. That's my King. Well....I wonder, do you know Him?.... David said, "The Heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament shows His handiwork. My King is a sovereign King. No means of measure can define His limitless love. No far seeing telescope can bring into visibility the coastline of His shore less supply. No barrier can hinder Him from pouring out His blessings. He's enduringly strong....He's entirely sincere....He's eternally steadfast....He's immortally graceful....He's imperially powerful....He's impartially merciful.......That's my King Do you know Him?
He's the greatest phenomenon that ever crossed the horizon of this world. He's God's Son....He's a sinner's Saviour....He's the centerpiece of civilization....He stands in the solitude of Himself....He's august....He's unique....He's unparalleled....He's unprecedented....He's the loftiest idea in literature....He's the highest personality in philosophy....He's the supreme problem in higher criticism....He's the fundamental doctrine of true theology....He's the cardinal necessity for spiritual religion....That’s my king He's the miracle of the age.... I wonder if you know Him?
Well, my King....is the King....He's the key to knowledge....He's the wellspring to wisdom....He's the doorway of deliverance....He's the pathway of peace....He's the roadway of righteousness ....He's the highway of holiness....He's the gateway of glory....... He’s the master of the mighty… He’s the captain of the conquerors…. He’s the head of the heroes… He’s the leader of the legislators… He’s the overseer of the over comers… He’s the governor of governors…. He’s the prince of princes… He’s the King of Kings… And He’s the Lord of Lords Do you know Him?
Well....His office is manifold....His promise is sure....His light is matchless....His goodness is limitless....His mercy is everlasting....His love never changes....His word is enough....His grace is sufficient....His reign is righteous....and His yoke is easy, and his burden is light. I wish I could describe Him to you, but He's indescribable....He's incomprehensible....He's invincible....He's irresistible.
Well, you can't get Him out of your mind....You can't get Him off of your hand....You can't out live Him, and you can't live without Him....The Pharisees couldn't stand Him, but they found out they couldn't stop Him....Pilate couldn't find any fault in Him....The witnesses couldn't get their testimonies to agree....Herod couldn't kill Him....Death couldn't handle Him, and the grave couldn't hold Him. Yea!!!, that's my King, that's my King.
He always has been And He always will be I’m talking about He had no predecessor and He’ll have no successor There was nobody before Him and there’ll be nobody after Him You can’t impeach Him and He’s not going to resign
That’s my King! Praise the Lord That’s my King Thine is the Kingdom....and the Power....and the Glory....Forever"....and ever, and ever, and ever, and ever. How long is that? And ever...and ever...and when you get through with all the forevers, then.... AMEN!....AMEN!


Let's get to know Him!!!

Christmas Decorations

so my dad and i decided that we wanted to decorate the house to day for Christmas! Every year my mom puts tons and tons of Christmas stuff all around the house like way more than anyone would ever need in a life time it's ridiculous so my dad and i decided we are taking over that's it so here's how it looks

Alright so really that's not how we are decorating we just wanted to see my moms reaction because my grandparents were coming over and we figured she would die! She totally laughed and then said really take it down :)

but really she leaves Tuesday and comes back the 23rd so really have the freedom to decorate however we want and we are going with as little as possible I'll put some pictures up when we finish for real!

Amazing Beauty!!

Ok so i have to admit that picture is not from this mornings sunrise and actually today's was way better.

Anyway sunrise is my absolutely favorite time of the day! i can't believe so many people never see it their entire life!!

It's so cool cuz usually the mornings that i feel the worst and hating life the Lord provides the best sunrises!! I love it!

Another Lost Friend

One of the worst feelings in the world is when you lose friends to the World.

I recently found out that yet another one of my friends has walked away from the Lord and is now following completely after their flesh.

It seems in my life that this happens all the time! People that i think are so on fire for the Lord and that the Lord is doing and going to do great things through all of the sudden decide to do whatever they want and give in completely to their flesh.

I try and try to talk to them and if you know me at all i am a very upfront honest person (I'm working on doing it in love) but if you are messing up and doing things the Lord does not approve of i will usually confront you on it. Well that typically results in either them realizing it or not talking to me anymore.

In fact sometimes they stop talking to me and stop hanging around me when they are doing bad because they know what i am going to say without me saying a word.

anyway i lost yet another friend to the world. i pray that they come back to the Lord! He stands with open arms always waiting for His children to come back home!

I pray that we continue following after the things of the Lord and stop going back to the things of this world!

I pray that everyone who has left their first love (including me at times) would come back to the Lord! He is waiting with open arms for His prodigal child to return!!!

on a side note! i learned how to knit yesterday totally exciting!! thank you AMY!!

How Soon We Forget

Isn't it funny how the Lord teaches us something about what we are going through and it totally helps and it's awesome and then months or years later He shows us the exact same thing and then later the same thing again! it's crazy that we can continually forget the things that He shows us!

So today the little devotional that i read was awesome and totally something the Lord teaches me continually so i thought i would just let you read it!

I know, o Lord, that a man's life is not his own; it is not for man to direct his steps. (Jeremiah 10:23)

Lead me in a straight path. (Psalm 27:11)

Many people want to direct God instead of surrendering themselves to be directed by Him. They want to show Him the way instead of submissively following where He leads.

I said, "let me walk in the field";
God said, " no, walk in the town";
I said " there are no flowers there";
He said,"no flowers, but a crown;"

I said," but the sky is black,
there is nothing but noise and din";
But He wept as He sent me back,
"There is more," He said "there is sin."

I said, "but the air is thick,
and smog is veiling the sun";
He answered, "yet souls are sick,
and your work is yet undone."

I said,"i will miss the light,
and friends will miss me, they say";
He answered me, "choose tonight
if i am to miss you, or they."

I pleaded for time to be given;
He said, "it is hard to decided?
It will not seem hard in heaven
to have followed the steps of your Guide."

I cast one look st the field,
then set my face to the town;
He said, " My child, do you yield?

We need to decide to trust the Lord no matter where He leads us and no matter what He does! He has a much better plan than we could ever imagine!!

why do we always try and do things on our own and make our own paths?

These are a few of the quotes from my devotional today and the book that i have been reading. most of the book does not talk about this but the part i read today did!

This spoke to me so much! for me i spend so much time in ministry and talking to people and just being busy with everything that i need to get done. Sometimes i completely forget to spend time with the Lord. Not that i don't want to spend time with Him and not that i don't have anytime that i am not doing anything. well i just forget to spend time with Him. usually because i end up distracting myself with everything else. sometimes i think well i am going to church tonight so that will be my time with the Lord today. But that's not enough!

I desire to spend time with the Lord everyday taking time out to completely devote to Him. I know that time is very important to Him to.

He desires to bless us and to fellowship with us. He desires our hearts and our love!

Friends we need to take that time and spend it with the Lord not spend it doing things for the Lord. yes we need to do things for the Lord, He has given us gifts for a reason but how are we supposed to do things for the Lord if we don't know Him and spend time with Him.

Let's make it a priority to spend time alone with the Lord everyday!!

God's Wrath

wow so i just finished listening to tim chaddicks podcast from nov 23 it was sooooo.... amazing! it's talking all about God's wrath not really something that we normally talk about or get excited about but it was so good! everyone needs to go listen to it will change your life! :)

Jesus took this great wrath upon himself for us! so crazy! we are so deserving of all of God's wrath but He instead gives us grace! not only does He fogive us but He gives us eternal life it's so amazing to me!

Praise the Lord!!

Last Day

So my parents decided it would be best to take a red eye home so we could spend the entire day in Hawaii! so first we woke up and got breakfast nothing to exciting!


then we drove to pali lookout nothing to exciting! my mom said that usually it is super windy up there and that you get practically blown away! it wasn't windy at all so i thought maybe she was a little crazy!


then we drove down some random beautiful roads! basically if it looked interesting or pretty we drove down it!!

a couple of the roads had beautiful tree tunnels it was amazing the picture doesn't really show it!


then we went off to hike the light house!

it was so fun! i love hiking! most of the path was paved which is not quite as fun but then when we got to the top of the path there was still more that could be climbed with these cool bunkers and stuff!


so we made our own path and started hiking it probably is not really supposed to be walked on at all but it was a lot of fun and from the top we could see all the sides of the island awesome!!

And while we were up there i saw a mongoose sooooo... cool it moved before i could take a picture but i found one on google in case you have never seen one before because i hadn't

the one i saw was bigger than this though!!

so then we drove down to the north shore! we wanted to go to these cool old surf towns and surf shops they were really cool!!!

WE ate lunch at killer tacos so good!!! it reminded me of chipotle cuz they make it however you want in front of you! but it was totally this hole in the wall Mexican restaurant that was soooo... good!!!! i would totally suggest going there!!

then we continued to just drive around everywhere! we went as far as we could go to the west and while we were there we saw them filming lost which was pretty cool i guess! i don't watch the show so it wasn't that amazing!!

Then it was back to the hotel to shower and eat and then off to the airport!

so i saw this sign for a highway! like like hwy. it is pronounced differently in Hawaiian but i still think it was funny maybe i was just really tired!

so the flight was good i guess i took a Tylenol pm hoping to fall asleep of course i only got and hour and a half and we landed at 6:30 am so i am now exhausted! so dumb!!!

Oahu

So i am a day behind again sorry i am horrible at this thing oh well!

so yesterday we flew from beautiful Kauai to Oahu. Oahu is mostly this huge city and very touristy blah. but we soon found out that some of the island is very beautiful too!

we rented a car and decided to drive to the north shore! dad and i really wanted to see pipeline because the triple crown is going on right now and there was a huge swell that just came in! so off we drove

45 minutes later we were on the opposite side of the island on the way to pipeline we stopped at shark cove! (really we stopped cuz there was a bathroom and from there found out that it was a big cove pretty cool!)
Then we kept driving down the coast and came along this part of the beach between houses that there were lots of people watching the water so we decided lets get out and check out what's going on! we did and found out we were at pipeline!

the waves were huge!!!!! so dad took some pictures of the guys surfing here are a few!

Then we continued on down the coast to find somewhere to eat! on the way we saw a light house so we decided to stop at this little pier thing and take some pictures!

on the pier was this big garage shed thing we had no idea what it was for until this guy drove up and opened it!

come to find out that it had these real submarines in it! they are used for the university of Hawaii and the ocean institute there!! it was amazing! the guy that opened the door talked to us for a while about all the things they have been doing they were on discovery channel and everything it was soooooo... cool!

So then we went to the turtle bay hotel to eat lunch! this is one of my moms little Burger things look you can see the legs of the crab!
So then we drove a little more just looking around and taking pictures!!

then we drove back to the hotel to go get some dinner and do some shopping! we walked to the alamoana shopping center which was just down the street for dinner! we went to barns and noble and look what i bought!

It the bible in pidgin! so cool!!!

then we walked to the hard rock cafe for dessert! it was only another few blocks away!

then as we were walking back to our hotel we got a little lost it was kind of crazy but pretty fun!!!! what an exciting day!!

Rainy Day

So it's been raining on and off all day! it rained all night last night so it's rather wet outside! we were supposed to hike the Napali coast today but the trail is closed because of severe weather!

So today we just hung out. we drove down to tunnels and around the north shore to look at the waves! they are huge! we got some pictures but you really need to be here to understand!

So in case you were curious...

Have you ever seen in Hawaii people do the Shaka sign or on movies?

Well i researched the origin of this sign!

One theory credited the gesture to Kalili Hamana, who lost the three middle fingers of his right hand while working at the Sugar Mill. Hamana was then shifted to guarding the sugar train, and his all-clear wave of thumb and pinkie is said to have evolved over the years into the "Shaka".

There are a few other theories but this is the most likely one that is told most places!

Then we went and got Shace ice from coconut grove! they have the best ones!! :)

Beautiful Friday!

Today was pretty cool!

I got up and sat on the lanai and spent some time with Jesus!! it was awesome!

Psalm 33:4

"For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does"

Then after breakfast we went to the beach (what else do you do in Hawaii!)

it was a beautiful day for the beach! the sun was warm and the water was perfect!

then we decided to stop over at hanalei cuz the surf was huge!!!

we watched the surfers for a while dad took tons of pictures

then we got some shave ice! yes we get it everyday! yesterdays at the coconut grove marketplace was the best so far on the trip!

then we walked down to hidden beach it's crazy to get to!

you have to walk down this super steep stair case on the side of this cliff

we got bitten by a ton of mosquito's while we were there which sucked but oh well!

Happy Turkey Day from Hawaii!!!

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!! there is lots to be thankful for!!

for me this year thanksgiving has been the best thanksgiving ever!! and the food wasn't even that amazing!!

we decided to kayak today! we used to be able to rent kayaks from this place and then kayak the wialua river by ourselves but now they make you go on a guided tour kind of dumb but whatever!

It was a lot of fun! we kayaked up the river and then hiked to secret falls it was beautiful! at the waterfall is this little swimming hole and you can swim and go under the waterfall and everything it was really fun!!

it was so much pressure but it was a lot of fun!!!

then we kayaked back down the river and got shave ice! this was so far the best shave ice we have had mostly because it was real shave ice where as all the rest have been just crushed ice!!

After our shave ice we picked up dinner! (we ordered it "pre-made" from foodland) we then brought it home and had to cook it! so dumb but whatever!

all in all it was a great thanksgiving!!!

What a Crazy Day!!!

so today we decided to go to this waterfall off this random path. it's called Kipu Falls. This is a beautiful place and you can jump off the waterfall! I jumped off it last year and it was so much fun! today i didn't feel like jumping it was rather windy and i didn't want to get cold.

The path to the waterfall is literally this jungle path.

so while we were at the waterfall just chillin enjoying the time this guy came down the trail and asked if we had a silver van? we told him yes and he continued to say that someone had broken into it and the back window was completely smashed! we rushed to the car to see that yes it had been broken in to.

thankfully we had all our valuables (cameras, wallets, etc.) with us! well sera left her purse under the seat but it was still in the exact same place that we left it with everything in it! so we had to call the insurance company (which took forever) then call the cops (which took a long time but not as long) then call the rental company. it was crazy

so after we took the car back to the rental place and got a new one we decided let's go get some shave ice! mmmmm... my favorite! there were some seals on the beach there and it was beautiful!

Then we went to spouting rock! which is this cool place where water spouts through a hole in this rock it makes the coolest sound too!! and there were chicken lots and lots of chickens and a few baby chicks!

then we drove around some more and came home (well back to the condo)!

by the way i am absolutley miserable! i have atleast 20 mosquito bites (not an exageration i counted this morning and i had 19)

if you don't already know i am allergic to mosquitos so all of my bites are swollen and red and gross! i feel like i have chicken pox! so dumb!
